What Fundort is
Fundort is a marketplace for trading between private individuals: one buyer, one seller, one transaction. Unlike the familiar classified-ad portals, payment is not a matter of trust — it runs through an escrow account, and the money is released only once receipt has been confirmed.
The platform is open to private individuals and companies alike. It has been built in four languages from the start: German, English, French and Italian.
Why we built it
In private trading, one side is always exposed: whoever pays first, or whoever ships first. Removing that exposure by technical means is a demanding task — it touches payments, identity verification, shipping, moderation and dispute handling all at once. Which is exactly what made it interesting.

What is inside the platform
Identity verification
ID checks through a specialist provider. Verified accounts carry a badge — trust becomes visible instead of merely claimed.
Chat with safeguards
Buyer and seller talk directly inside the platform. Contact details are detected and suppressed automatically, so a deal cannot quietly bypass buyer protection.
Shipping
Integration with Swiss Post: franking and postage labels are created inside the transaction, with tracking as evidence.
Moderation
Two-stage text review plus image recognition for listings. Fast and inexpensive on the first pass, thorough in borderline cases.
Mobile apps
iOS and Android apps from the same code base as the website, with push notifications and biometric sign-in.
Technology
Angular on the front end, ASP.NET Core as the API, MS SQL Server as the database. The website is server-side rendered so that listings are findable in search engines. The mobile apps are produced with Capacitor from the same code.
On the operations side: Cloudflare as a protective layer in front, payments through a Swiss provider, invoicing with Swiss QR-bill and automatic payment reconciliation.
